Pros

The only things that kept me at Per Scholas for a long as I stayed was 1 ) my coworkers were amazing! We really supported each other ( even those who were in other offices across the US, they were always willing & eager to help you 2) I really enjoyed working with the earners and seeing how the program changed their lives.

Cons

1) High turnover and TERRBILE management. "Leadership" was unsupportive , only offered fake words of encouragement and then they start mistreating you / toss you aside once they've overworked you and have gotten all they can out of you. 2) Untrustworthy "Leadership" : Avoid confiding in anyone that's in a management/ leader position cause they will twist & use your words against you . Every organization had office politics but this place was ridiculous. So many amazing staff members were fired or pushed to quit because they were too outspoken or did not "play along" 3) Lack of effort put into staffs professional development : I never had a conversation with management about my career goals etc. until I was already working there for over a year (and I had to initiate the conversation) 4) The pay was UNACCEPTABLE for the amount of work employees did (certainly did not match the cost of living in this area) - many staff members worked side jobs or had to get into low-income housing programs. 4) Lots of favoritism , bullying, passive aggressive behavior from supposed "management" - especially those staff members who used their their "title" to get their relatives into the program . I would only recommend working here if you're desperate or have no intention of staying for more than a year.

Pros

Good benefit, remote work, helping out the community by providing free IT trainings

Cons

Zero transparency, lots and lots of questionable promotions and new hire. Nonsense positions/titles constantly created just to give long timers promotions regardless of their performance. Very low pay for the instructors, IAs which are the core and building blocks of the company. If you want to make progress on your career, PLEASE stay away from this bogus company.

Pros

The staff is overall very tolerant and diverse. The pay is decent, and better than most nonprofits. All work is remote until further notice. You will be promoted if you do what is asked of you.

Cons

HR was helpful, but unprofessional in regards to misquoting my wages (accepted out of need and interest in the work), and being very rude in communication with me, and others in the company. Management is split between experienced leaders and inexperienced staff. They move people up based on if they are the warm body directly below the open role or not. I went back to the corporate workforce to chase the money because at least there, I know I'm being openly discriminated against.
