Pros

- Employs solid talent. I was blessed to work with the best engineering team I've ever had while working here. - Pays market salary or above for the DC Metro area. - Every day had unique challenges to solve, both technical and non-technical. Smaller team enabled learning more than I would have at a larger company.

Cons

- Enables toxic leadership amidst multiple complaints. As long as the program is making money, employee concerns go unresolved. Most engineers just "buckled down" so that we could deliver a good product. - Doesn't hire enough people for a good work/life balance. You'll learn a lot, but it will come at a cost. This role is the first time in my professional career where I experienced pronounced and extended burnout. - Questionable business ethics led to further conflicts between the engineering team and program management. Engineering recommendations regarding system PMI were ignored for profitability.
