Pros

I worked for Perceptive Analytics for a brief period of time and my learning from that short period of time translated into a lifetime career transition and advancement. Perceptive serves its clients on a wide array of projects from spreadsheet modeling and automation to data analytics with duration ranging from a mere day to a couple of months. Working on these different kinds of projects gave me a great exposure to various technologies and market trends. At Perceptive, I had a chance to work with various clients and it being a small company, gives each of its employees a great opportunity to work on all the phases of the project from understanding the requirements (sometimes even pitching for winning a project) to delivering and billing the client. At Perceptive, every employee is the owner of the product delivered and carries equal weight at every phase of the project. With its open door policy in a collaborative space, Perceptive offers each of its employees a tremendous learning opportunity and understand the entire life-cycle of the project. The best thing about working at Perceptive Analytics is their emphasis on simplicity. It was amazing to witness how simple ideas and small changes translate into great client satisfaction, which explains why most Perceptive clients are recurring. Perceptive Analytics management does a great job at providing learning opportunities to its employees and spends significant amount of money and time in people development and makes sure its employees are ready before taking on client projects. If you want to grow your career in emerging technologies in financial modeling, spreadsheet automation, and data analytics, Perceptive Analytics is the place for you.

Pros

I have learned a lot about sales and marketing which will be helpful for me going ahead. I have interacted with many clients and potential clients as well, and I got to learn a lot from these interactions. I also had a lot of freedom to experiment in my role, which was instrumental in enhancing my experience. The tasks I attended to were not limited to a specific domain but that only helped in increasing the potential of the job and though challenging, the role was equally rewarding for me. The work atmosphere is very good and the hours are very flexible. All the policies of the company are explained to the employees well in advance so as to avoid any confusion.

Cons

At times, you may have to work a little extra during peak season: like working for a while over the weekend or staying back for a while after working hours. On such occasions, work-life balance would take a hit. Work from home policy helps in these cases, though.
