Perficient is a fantastic "pure plan" professional services choice
Pros
Perficient is a fast growing, pure play, professional services company. For those who have come from the IT Services industry and are looking for a fun, fast paced, yet structured and successful company to work for, this is a great choice. Having come from multipl Global 1000 companies, I had to really dive deep into conversations with local, regional, and national leadership to make my decision to come here. Do they have everything figured out, of course not. Do they have hundreds to thousands of smart motivated people to help get them there, absolutely. I encourage you to make your own decisions and ask to speak with senior members of the organization to come to your own conclusions. After almost (6) months on the job I have come away far more pleasantly surprised than shocked by any of my encounters. One of the best parts of being in leadership here at Perficient is that you genuinely have the lattitude to make a huge difference both in a local market and nationally. For any new employees coming in, make sure you know exactly who you work for, what your short, medium and long term career opportunities are, and do not be afraid to ask for meetings 1-2 levels above your hiring manager. Everyone at Perficient is very approachable and eager to welcome new members to the team.
Cons
Perficient has grown through acquisition. There is far more good from this formula than bad. Over the past year the organizational structure and go-to-market have changed to better align national delivery but the reality is this is a 2-3 year process. The local GM's need to grow more towards entreprenuers and away from strictly local delivery GM's. This will help with staff decisions being made on a project-by-project basis to long term FTE decisions to improve the mix of our markets and our expertise. I am seeing the tide turning but again it will take time.
