Still a great place to work, with room to improve on the operational side
Pros
The culture that made PSL special is still very much alive — especially in LATAM, where most people are incredibly charismatic, collaborative, and kind. Work-life balance is respected, remote work is still the norm, and occasional office gatherings are a great way to reconnect and enjoy the team spirit in person. There are also many exciting clients and projects to be part of, which keeps the work dynamic and engaging.
Cons
That said, since being acquired by Perficient, we've had to switch to outdated and unintuitive operational tools — which feels ironic for a software development company. These systems often create friction and slow down day-to-day tasks. Bureaucratic processes still rule, and despite being part of a global organization, each country and business unit operates differently, with no unified process in place. As a result, many of the tools we’re given fall short of what’s actually needed to work effectively. Another ongoing challenge is that poor management is often overlooked or protected, which can negatively impact teams and morale. There's still work to be done to ensure accountability and consistent leadership quality across the board.
