It’s all in a day

Pros

Money is excellent, management cares about you

Cons

When you are new- everything is new- they train you for two weeks in one delivery area, when you are released- every stop is new- we're talking 10-12 stops a day and they are all new. Long days and a lot of physical work. Equipment provided is not always adequate- forget it if they send you to Boston and you are unfamiliar. You have no say in what area of New England you will be working in everyday. 4am start time, back to the yard by 4pm if you are lucky. The company is really great and they do care about there drivers- just be safe and suck it up for the first 6-9 months and you will soon get consistent daily routes.

Great pay, good hours

Pros

Good coworkers. Sick pay, personal days & 2 weeks of vacation for first 4 years. Vacation time goes up after 4 years. Base pay is already nice and there’s incentive pay on top of that. Giving you potential to earn an extra $200-$1000 a check depending on hours and quality.

Cons

Hours can be weird. Work week starts on sunday night. Start time is at 5:30pm (except Sunday)and depending on case count that night you could be done by 9pm or may have to stay until 5am. Just depends. Management seems to not care too much when it comes to warehouse workers. They are more concerned about truck drivers wants and needs. You will work all holidays (except thanksgiving) if they fall through the work week.

Pros

You’re off the weekends , some of the employees Are easy to get along with And are respectful . Had Wednesdays off but it really wasn’t a day off because I had to go in the same night .

Cons

It is a depressing job . They throw you out with the wolves . No training whatsoever . They overwork their employees because they are so understaffed . Management and dispatch lie to reel you in . 22 hour days . And still have to come in to work the next day . NOT A LOCAL JOB LIKE THEY SAID IN ORIENTATION.. absolutely the worst company I’ve ever worked for . Paid every two weeks . Absolutely not worth working over 65 hours a week for $500 a week . If you want to get into the food distribution industry I recommend SYSCO they paid me weekly . 1600 a week . Other drivers talk behind your back . Definitely wasn’t a good vibe working at PFG . Management shows favoritism . It’s not worth the headaches , stress , and anxiety . Never worked for a company where everyone was so miserable and I think it’s starting to rub off on me .. and VERY POOR MANAGEMENT & Threaten to fire employees that don’t want to cover people on vacation or people that call out
