      Underpaid, under appreciated, lack or direction, smoke and mirrors, demoralizing

      Pros

      For some reason the industry thinks highly of Perkin Elmer so it looks good on a resume.

      Cons

      Lack of clear direction. Lack of communication. Poor leadership and management. Non-competitive pay. IT dept is 10 years behind the curve. Health Insurance co-pay and premiums are very high especially if you need to support family. Change and vertical moves happen very slowly. PKI appears to be another corporate BS company that is only concerned about dollar bills behind closed doors. The passion for health care and science is completely lost from my perspective.

      Pros

      Company has a great reputation, great upper management, and good benefits. The company is also very flexible when working remotely.

      Cons

      PerkinElmer tends to be a slower moving organization. There are too many processes and levels which make it difficult to move projects quickly and efficiently.

      Pros

      Most of the people I have worked with were intelligent and professional. The product brand is well known and respected in the industry. Current president of LAS is a great leader and respected within customer circles.

      Cons

      Some people in leadership/management are stretched too thin with reporting to develop their direct reports. Many of the products sold are "me too" and were not the first to the market. Key investments are made that do not benefit all or a majority of customer markets.
