Large company with global sales coverage. Significant resources available. Skilled engineering and manufacturing capabilities in a number of disciplines. Brand history is initially impressive.

Cons

Weak executive leadership. Decades of hollowing the middle tiers of management and professional staff have left the organization incapable of developing new products and advancing in the market. Lack of clear focus and direction. Lack of strategic vision and direction. Excessively focused on investor community and stock price.

Standard Wall-Street pressures mean some layoffs - I was in one in January 2013 It happens, deal with it - they treated me fairly
