      A once-great company coasting down hill

      Pros

      The company makes many many interesting product and has many interesting and clever people working there.

      Cons

      Constant "optimization" and management by numbers is slowly crushing out innovation and leadership. Most product lines get a face lift instead of an functional improvements. More and more work is outsourced to cheaper countries reducing quality.

      Pros

      PerkinElmer is very a structured work environment. They are clearly environmentally focused in their product and service offerings. If you are hired by PKI at the headquarters, you will find job security.

      Cons

      If the company you work for is acquired by PKI, your operations will likely be transferred to their main facility in MA within 2 years.
