Pros

There aren't many other than the transit subsidy. Unfortunately there's a 20 word minimum that I must fulfill for this section.

Cons

Horrible office culture at LA office. Office politics at a whole new level. Unprofessional HR. Certain upper management plays favorites while the "non favorites" are left to do all the work with no appreciation. They're also left to do the work with no support and unreasonable deadlines. Management doesn't do anything to provide support that's needed. A lot of good hardworking people have left and more are leaving. Also, too many initiatives and social activities. Office is laid out like a sweatshop where employees are squished tightly next to each other with no desk space (forget about having anywhere to put drawings).

Pros

Perkins+Will globally is an amazing company. They have a true commitment to the environment and design excellence.

Cons

The San Francicso Office is a mess. The new Managing Director is not qualified to run an office. The last MD had his issues but at least had passion for design and you knew what you were getting with him. Unlike the current regime who is not honest and will stab anyone in the back. Although the overall staff is 50/50 male/female, the office is run mostly by men and the Senior Leadership is disconnected and lack empathy. Culture is none existent under new management. The vision is risk management. Design is nonexistent.

Pros

No lack of projects, and Arch I's get paid overtime. The firm brings in large, exciting projects quite regularly.

Cons

Full to the brim with office politics. Nothing is based on your performance, no one cares about your performance, your interests, or your strengths and weaknesses. The later you stay at the office, the better you look to upper management. There is no effort to foster a collaborative studio culture, and upper management obviously does not care about their employees. You can quit after a decade of invaluable service, and they will simply show you out the door and hire someone else. Hiring is haphazard and desperate, staffing is inconsiderate and unbalanced. Management does not know how to handle 100+ employees, and they're not trying to change their outdated ways of running things or listening to complaints. This is an office all about profit, with close to zero humanity and a dead culture.
