Pros

The former Paddock, is one of the most profitable/valuable Perrigo sites. It manufactures numerous relatively small scale niche pharmaceuticals; making it a diverse and robust market position that comes from having multiple pipelines. This diversity also provides exposure to many different types of processes and analyses; making it an ideal "first" job. Furthermore, the site was/is well established from its Paddock days, as a superior example of GMP and GLP practices.

Cons

Profit above all! This is the company mission statement regardless of what they say, but not at the expense of quality. Getting paid $5000 less than your peers right out of college isn't that bad considering how many different tests you get exposed to. That is until QC decided to make the lab an assembly line of testing. Do you just want to dilute samples to volume all day (and not actually test them)? After 3 years, hopefully you got trained on an instrument, so you can get a job elsewhere, as your peers are now making ~$15000 more than you a year. And hurry up, as this pay discrepancy will continue to grow (and not linearly) year by year. Or you could talk to your manager/supervisor, but wait.... They laid off or chased out all the managers/supervisors that cared about their employees, and replaced them with latter climbing, inexperienced puppets who will assure you that they are working on it. Once you realize that it has been 2 additional years, you're now making $30000 less than your peers, and you're still just diluting to volume everyday........ run!!!!!!! Because the only thing they are working on is making you inexperienced, underpaid, and undesirable to other companies.

Pros

-Marketing team is hardworking, knowledgeable and creative -Free product the company manufactures (varies) -Pretty good health benefits (medical, dental, optical, mental)

Cons

- Not enough vacation time - 4 CEOs in the past 4 years has led to constant turmoil and changes in direction - Parent company buys smaller businesses and bleeds them dry with no investment for future growth - Depressing culture - Not willing to spend on professional development - Old office furniture and drab place to be in general - Little room for advancement

Pros

The people on the floor were really sweet. Compensation was about average; benefits above average. Good career opportunities if you were willing to relocate around the country, which is great.

Cons

I couldn't really put my finger on why I hated going to work every day until I had the blessing of working at my current company, so here it goes. First and foremost, the work/life balance at PNY is horrendous. At previous companies, when I worked a 60 hour week, it was greatly appreciated - I've even received a Thank You note at a previous company (which, I admit, is a little above and beyond). But at PNY, 60 hour weeks were the expectation - no smiles, no thank you's - and that can be stressful in itself. There was also a lot of yelling and screaming on a daily basis - maybe not directly at me - but it does have an influence on your mental health when that's what you're exposed to every day. Last but not least, things were never really done properly - 99% firefighting; 1% creative work. I never had the opportunity to properly do a project start to finish - even our 'presentations' were just a bunch of words on one or two white slides - very unprofessional in my opinion. At my new company, I'm starting projects with an A3, a time study, and a PFMEA - and, in my opinion, that makes things way way way easier down the road - and is the way I enjoy working.
