This is hands-down the most toxic and exploitative work environment I’ve ever experienced. The company operates on favoritism, manipulation, and fear—disguised behind a polished brand image. Leadership will say all the right things publicly, but behind the scenes, they reward dishonesty, suppress fairness, and push their salespeople to the brink.
Unethical behavior is not only allowed—it’s rewarded. Agents who lie to buyers or use shady tactics are applauded as long as the contracts roll in. If you play fair and try to maintain integrity, you’ll be micromanaged, gaslit, and eventually pushed out.
Favoritism is rampant. Certain agents are handed entire sections to themselves, while others—sometimes three at a time—are crammed into one and forced to compete. “Favorites” come and go as they please, and some don’t even show up—leaving assistants to sit in the model. Leadership fully supports it and looks the other way.
Meanwhile, commissions have been cut multiple times in the past year, without any transparency or input from the sales team. You’re expected to do more with less: manage your model home, perform administrative tasks, and serve as a marketing team by posting four times a week on your personal social media accounts and tagging the company.
And while the company boasts about record-breaking revenue, and the owner is now one of the wealthiest people in the world, they’ve implemented commission policies that are predatory and borderline abusive:
• There’s no clear system to track your commission payouts.
• If the company makes an error and underpays you, you have 15 days to catch it—otherwise, you forfeit the money.
• But if they overpay you, even by mistake, they’ll go back months later and pull that commission back from your future paychecks.
When I raised concerns about discrimination after being told my social media was “unprofessional,” no one could provide a single example. After escalating the issue, they admitted there was nothing unprofessional at all and called it a “procedural oversight.” In the same week, I was threatened with termination for leaving slightly early—while top agents skipped entire days with no consequences.
This company will exploit your time, erode your confidence, and profit from your silence. It rewards those who are willing to be dishonest and punishes those who speak up. If you care about your mental health, your ethics, or simply being treated like a human being, do not work here.
