      A generally enjoyable job that has poor upper management within the store

      Pros

      The many different pets that come through make the job enjoyable. There are also regular customers that we can form a good working relationship with.

      Cons

      The higher management within the two stores I have worked under are not very good management material. They take favorites and will reward and punish based on those choices

      Pros

      There is room for advancement if you're a solid worker, especially given how frequently managers are replaced under the "new" level of expectation. Benefits are decent for managers (and full-time employees) and you are given discretionary days, sick days, and vacation upon promotion.

      Cons

      Your level of responsibility and expectation will FAR OUTWEIGH what they will pay you. Everyday you will have to choose between "critical vs. important" and that is a battle you will never win; which means every day will be a giant stress battle. In retail, and especially at PetSmart, you are measured by your negatives, so have thick skin.
