Culture of support, family first, top talent, excellent training and onboarding experience. There's an extremely strong team environment at PetSmart. Current managers were supported during their early start up days so they continue the team culture by offering help and guidance to new managers. In fact, if as a new manager you aren't asking others questions, they will reach out to you and ask why not. Great company.

Cons

Typical retail challenges of staffing hours, call outs, late and early shifts.

Pros

They really care about the animals and customers. Training is exceptional. Customers are very friendly and fellow employees are excellent. Nice stock awards.

Cons

The main problem I have had is that the Upper Management doesn't take accountability for anything and throws his team under the bus when ever he gets in trouble. Be prepared to sign your name a hundred times a day on checklists.

Great benefits, room for advancement, promote from within, working with people and pets every day, great coworkers and employees.

Cons

To many policies and procedures, that are changed constantly. To focused on pleasing investors. to much paperwork. Not enough labor hours given to stores to truely provide the kind of exception customer service they are expecting.
