Pros

Pension (after working for 5 years). Light work load (if you don’t like being busy). Work life balance. Flexible with WFH and schedule. Nice office equipment. 5% 401K match. Health insurance is ok.

Cons

Work load is poorly managed by most supervisors and mangers. Slow career progression. Non competitive salary. I started fresh out of college in 2024 making $74,975. Did not do annual raises the next year. Weak company culture. Managers are distant and make you feel insignificant and inferior. Took away WFH days when there was no reason to do so. Employees with toxic and obnoxious attitudes go unchecked by management. Management is not open to new ideas or innovation. Onboarding and training for new engineers is almost non existent. Processes for engineering designs or changes are extremely poorly managed, arbitrary, redundant, and ambiguous. Lack of direction from leadership. Most of the work is not engineering at all. Extremely light work load, I spent countless days doing absolutely nothing with leadership being fully aware. I was told there just wasn’t much work to go around. Job is extremely non intellectually stimulating. My engineering and career development was severely stunted for the year and a half that I was here. I learned more at my next job in one month than I learned here in a year and a half. I accomplished more work at my next job in a month than I did here in a year and a half. Only have 50% tuition reimbursement which means it is impossible to get tuition 100% covered. Teams and individuals are frequently shuffled around between groups. The culture feels very lazy. No paid paternal leave. PTO is not competitive. PTO is accrued. Engineering layoffs were occurring while I was here.
