Designgers whose job is to invent Healthcare products are often dominated by former medical workers who joined Philips to perform medical exams and assist Engineering. If you are a designer, you are being perceived as a wireframe monkey whose job is to follow what the medical professionals will tell you. The moment you advocate for a better user experience, your presence can become a problem. People who manage designers mostly care about their reputation but not about the happiness of their employees at work. Salaries are low. Once you've joined, forget about raise.
