Pros

Benefits, work/career balance If you want an H1-B visa go for it, they're a factory. I'd say 80-90% of the technical people are foriegn born, Chineese, Pakistan, Indian. Most with poor English skills. Then you have the Dutch expats.

Cons

Salary at the very low end, very high cost of living (NYC suburbs), no career path, technically unsophisticated, when they say research they mean short term development. Bad communication across research labs (Eindhoven gets priority, followed by China & India).

Pros

You can coast if you want There are some nice people Opportunities to go to Amsterdam Pretty good pay and benefits Relaxed atmosphere Experience with a global, Fortune 500 company

Cons

Unless you are a white, male from Europe, there is little chance for advancement. Strong "time served" mentality. Promotion is based almost solely on time with the company. Real aversion to making decisions. Everyone is involved in the discussions, but no one make the decisions. completely oblivious to their clients and the market.

Pros

OK benefits and fair job security if you do the minimum required

Cons

One of the worst companies I have worked for. They reward mediocre conduct. As long as you limit to do what your job description says, you are OK; and 90% of the employees know this and act this way. No one will be able to help you unless they HAVE TO, even if it is for the benefit of the company. No one wants to take risks or go above and beyond because they may risk being fired. It is normal for people to ignore your emails (even after sending 3-4 times) or reply after several weeks if you are lucky enough. Mediocre is the standard. If you are the type of person that have great ideas and like to step out of the box and go above and beyond to solve problems and improve operations, THIS IS NOT THE COMPANY FOR YOU.
