A lot of people getting into home care, really need to research it first to see if it's really the right fit for them. People may come in thinking they are automatically going to get a set schedule/the same exact hours every week/nothing ever changes. That isn't always the case. You may get a schedule that mostly stays the same with the same clients, but then again life may throw a curve ball and your client may get ill or go to the hospital. Those hours would then change while they are in the hospital and you might end up needing to pick up other hours to make up for what you lost or go without those hours if there aren't any open hours during that time. Home care is ever changing. Working in facilities, you may get a set schedule such as 6-2 Monday through Friday (always getting in your 40 hours a week). With home care, you generally have a more flexible schedule. When looking at home care, those are just some of the things you'll want to think about.
