Pros

We are like a family.

Cons

Management is TERRIBLE, they schedule you all over the place. The pay is 22 or 33 a unit based on LPN or RN, but they don't pay you for any time spent out of the home. So if you are up until 10pm finishing your charting well thats time you are not going to get compensated for. You may have to drive an hour to see one patient and all you are going to get compensated is your unit. Our training is short and leaves people kinda just hanging out there by themselves to figure it out. Benefits/Insurance is also a joke. So there are many things that need improving upon.

Pros

Somewhat flexible, if you have a school schedule or something to work around they're ok with that. Otherwise I can't think of any more.

Cons

Where do I start? I have been working in home health for a while now. I was called without even applying and hired on the spot (should have taken that as a red flag). Had to give out my medical history and take a physical fitness test (seriously??) during the "class". Training was totally inadequate, if I hadn't done home health before I would have been completely lost. No instruction on policies whatsoever. Each and every scheduled day, my visits were scattered over 5 different counties and I was driving up to 200 miles some days and working, whereas other employees were a short distance from all of their patients. If the patient needed supplies, most of the time I wasn't made aware through "sticky notes". And when I did know, I had to make sure to plan to drive all the way to the office and backtrack a lot to get these supplies. I put in my notice after seeing these issues. First real paycheck comes in. I was paid very little for the weeks work including working Christmas as my first day out of orientation (I did volunteer that). After calling the office and disputing the matter, it came down to them saying that basically they lost my time sheets and that I needed to redo them. I told them no, they needed to find them. They finally called me back and had "found" my time sheets and gave me a check when I turned in all of my supplies. I just got my last paycheck and of course there are issues with this one too. But honestly I'm tired of wasting time with them over it. Don't bother with this company. I have never been so disappointed in a job, or left so quickly, in my entire life. Also some of the office staff was quite rude. I am not eligible for rehire because I did not put in a full 2 week notice (office made sure to stress this to me) but I would not reapply, too much trouble.
