Excessive favoritism, minimum wage, it takes a toll on your mental health after awhile. It doesn't help that sometimes guest can be pretty rude. Very cookie cutter in the poses, no room for creativity. if you enjoy photography this might make you think differently. leads and supervisor are able to do things regular employees get reprimanded for. Leads and supervisors need to be held to a higher standard. Don't get sick or have someone in your family pass away, since its mainly college kids working nobody is able to cover shifts during the week. The ones that can work during the week don't want to because this job is tiring. Sometimes people offer an incentive to get there shift covered and even hat doesn't work. People usually call out when shift is not picked up. There is no consistency in the work place, one minute there will be one promotion going and the next minute theres another one. It also doesn't help that when managers, supervisors and leads talk to each other most of the time it not about the operations, its either about other employees or their personal life. If a supervisor or lead has an issue with you they will ether talk badly behind your back first then talk to you or they go to the manager directly to complain to them and the manager then deals with the issue. So then you're blind sided by it because supervisors and leads are the managers favorites. Only way to really get a raise is to get promoted and honestly not many people want to take the promotions. sometimes raises are promised by the manager and they never happen. she uses your possibly of a raise as a bargaining tool, can't be honest about how things are in the work place because there goes your raise. most of the time the reason its understaffed is because people either called out, quit on the spot or just straight out no called no show. There is a reason this venue and the company in general has a high turnover rate. Work environment feels like high school, lots of cliques and you can only be "popular" if you kiss up.
