Yearly raises and pretty easy work

No help from upper management or direction. They hire district Meat managers that have never worked in a meat department before and don't know what there doing

Understaffed most days, top of the pay ladder is the bottom at a lot of other places, vacation time is slow to earn, union is ineffective at best, they will keep you part time

Good starter job for high schoolers

Cons

My location had frequently rotating management which made it difficult to form lasting relationships with anyone. They also would forget/ignore requests for schedule changes. I often requested more hours and would maybe get them for a week or 2 and then back to 4 hour weeks which even as a highschooler wasn't great.
