You cant take off work when you want. It must revolve around the convenience of Pioneer. So come spring (planting), Summer (pollinating), and Fall (Harvest) you cant take off. That gives you 4 months out of the year to take off.... which when you have kids in school you cant take a spring or summer vacation (who wants to go on vacation in december). You are gone from your family for months at a time while planting and harvesting. Then when they say you can take off you are told you cant because they want to send you off for training for days at a time. So pretty much... spring summer fall you are their slave. Then in the winter you only have a 1-2 months to take off because the other months they have you scheduled for more stupid training. Also, most of their training is repeated from year to year. You go to the same old meetings each year. Pioneer is the perfect job for a single guy but not for one that wants to seattle down and be a good dad and husband. None of my coworkers ever make it to their kids ballgames. They get lucky if they can make it to one game the entire year. Also, PIONEERS SALARY is worthless. It's sucks!! My wife makes more than me with no college education working as a secretary at local doctors office. I went to college only to make less than someone without a degree. As my wife says.... the pay doesnt make up for the amount of time you are away from home.... meaning.... for as much time as i'm gone out of town, I get paid very little. $31000 is the max I bring in and that includes overtime. Which speaking of overtime.... they are trying to make their employees go salary which sucks cause of all the overtime you are putting in. I could go on for days as to why pioneer has to be the most worthless company you could work for!!!!
