Hi Plandayer, thank you very much for reviewing your time with Planday, even though we are of course sad to hear that you feel like our leadership team is unreliable. We understand that going through changes within a company can be difficult and we are continuously working on improving our ways of communication, and how to keep everyone updated about changes and decisions. If you have any feedback or suggestions on how we can further improve the way we communicate with and support each other across the organization, we would be very happy to hear from you. You can reach out to me directly (afi@planday.com). Thanks again, Anna

Pros

I was lucky enough to work with a great team during my time, and have some excellent leaders within my department (who themselves saw sense and left) but outside of that I don't see many pros to working at Planday.

Cons

It has been incredibly disappointing to see a company that I was previously proud to work for, and that used to genuinely care for it's employees, become what it is today. The rapid decline in it's culture and efficiency in the last two years mainly coincides with the appointment of Birgitte Pihl as CPO and the acquisition by Xero. The company is led by an SLT who's main focus is how they can help themselves and constantly resist any integration or direction from Xero. Ego on both sides at senior management gets in the way of any real collaboration or improvement to the Planday business model. The decimation of the Planday I joined has been driven mainly by Birgitte (CPO), for someone who is supposedly there to champion "culture" and be the head of people, she is one of the most toxic and uncompassionate people I have ever worked with. Unless you sit within her favoured Copenhagen office, and under her watchful eye, she cares very little about you or your welfare. This is particularly evident at the London office. Any culture and collaboration that existed between the offices when I originally joined has been massively eroded since her arrival. This has been replaced with a culture of toxicity and favouritism, perpetuated by Birgitte herself and she does very little to encourage any improvement in relations. She believes herself to be a great people leader and takes an instant dislike to anyone who challenges this. This has been incredibly apparent in the recent months with redundancies affecting teams across the group, but very different approaches taken depending on how "valued" you are by Birgitte and the SLT. While the message being sent out to employees is about open communication and minimising impact, the reality is very different. Unclear and inconsistent communication is the norm and everyone is just left guessing and waiting to see how they will be impacted.

Hi there, I appreciate your feedback and take any criticism seriously, but feel that some of your comments are neither representative of our company culture nor leadership. Our SLT is committed to the company’s success and is working hard to integrate and collaborate with Xero to ensure that we continue to provide the best service to our customers, while keeping our unique Planday culture and values. We do not tolerate any behavior that is not in line with our company values, and we take appropriate action if necessary. Personally, I was sad to see myself described as toxic and uncompassionate, and I would very much like to learn more about what I have done to upset you like this. I understand that you might have experienced uncertainty during recent redundancies. We take the wellbeing of our employees seriously, and we have made every effort to communicate as clearly and transparently as possible throughout this process. We understand that redundancies can be difficult for everyone involved, and continue to provide support to affected employees. Since I am in London this week, I would welcome the possibility to meet in person to discuss your concerns. You are always welcome to reach out directly. Best, Birgitte Pihl CPO
