Pros

Planet is a company that is the perfect size if you want support while at the same time the ability to still be creative and innovative with solutions. I love the work that I am doing and the ability to partner and learn from others.

Cons

Policies are good, however, could need a refresh here and there.

Pros

Compensation is suitable and competitive compared to other similar firms. A tiny bit of training is offered when initially hired, but not much.

Cons

This company operates with a SERIOUS accountability problem that is fostered by leadership. There is little to no enforcement of procedures, for the very few that exist, except for the fact that quite a bit falls onto the PMO group. Leadership has a “good ol” boy culture which means that one of the problem-solving techniques actively leveraged is to blame everyone else, including the client, when things go wrong or could potentially go wrong. Yes, that’s right - even if a potential problem is presented, leadership will take the position of blaming others rather than working to consider recommendations or take steps to mitigate the risk. One of the ways the company confidently skirts accountability is to decline to create or document policies and procedures. The primary best practice is to shift responsibility by declining to define a clear division of duties. The best practice is to get it signed, then let Delivery deal with it later. The culture chips away at morale and discourages people from speaking up. Bringing up potential problems or even asking asking questions can be seen as an attack and is met with defensive juvenile responses. Benefits and PTO are average or below average.

Sorry things did not work out for you. I am not sure how to respond beyond our first client 25 years ago continues to be a client still today. In a very recent independent survey, we were selected Great Places to Work as voted on anonymously by our Planet team. However, we always continue to strive to be better.
