Pros

You don't have to worry about getting fired. They operate like a studio instead of a technology company so it's easy to get up to speed.

Cons

Good Ideas never see the light of day and bad Ideas never get killed. Japanese culture instills a process of conscious which is extremely detrimental in a technology company. No one is given decision making power.

Pros

New campus and cafeteria are nice. Good product that gamers are enthusiastic about.

Cons

Outdated corporate culture, slow to adapt to new technology. Hasn't incorporated the mobile culture that now dominates silicon valley. Nepotism across the organization, candidates are hired and receive promotions based on previous business relationships. The existing workforce though qualified, stagnates. Open reqs get filled through the back door and then posted to 'Career Opprtunities'.

Pros

- The people at PlayStation are passionate about the products we're assigned to, and its apparent in our work. We are pushed hard to accomplish a lot with little time. - There are many resources from within the company to manifest outward facing communication. - on-site gym and cafeteria.

Cons

- We work so fast, that we forget about our own careers... and HR does not seem to care. Our goals for the fiscal year are written within the last two month of the year, rendering them meaningless. - Prerequisites for promotion are vague. When a straight answer is obtained from management, the prerequisites change by the end of the year, making promotion impossible to achieve. Some employees stay in the same position for a decade (or more) before promotion.
