Pros

1) Lots of opportunities for advancement. Expect to be moved to a new department/manager regularly (6 mo or so). If you want to grow your skillet very fast, this is the place for you. 2)

Cons

1) "Quality First" is just a slogan. A more accurate tagline would be "Just ship it!" 2) Over-worked engineers rarely have time to do proactive/preventative work. Entirely too much time is eaten up with firefighting. This ends up creating more work for everyone from Operators to QEs. 3) Getting new (functional) equipment is a act of Congress. But, hey, a brand-new site is being built in Thailand! 4) Extraordinary resistance to any change that might make work more efficient/easier. 5) Lots of old home-brew software applications to navigate to get the most minor task done.
