people don't work together. Every person for themself. Don't listen to feedback. Very top down with no reinforcement. Behavior does not align to touted values.

Thank you for raising these concerns. I’m sorry and concerned to hear that this has been your experience at Pluralsight. This is not the culture or environment that we aim to foster. I encourage you to reach out to your People Business Partner to discuss some of the issues you’re experiencing so we can turn your experience around. You can also reach out to me directly if you’d prefer. Will Clive Chief People Officer

Death by a thousand (or at least 5) cuts

Pros

The people are the best of the best. No other company I have worked with comes close. These friendships will continue through the rest of my career. Pay and benefits were great. It changed over time, but still, never had complaints. Reputation in the market is solid, mostly because of the first point, we attracted the best talent.

Cons

Vista - they pounced when we were struggling as a public company but do not know what to do now. They have gone through the Rolodex of Vista C-suite to see if something will work, and because of that, the company has had 5 layoffs in the last 13 months, with more certainly to come. Morale is in the dumpster. Culture - what was once the best out there (again, not exaggerating) plummeted over the past 2 years. The constant fear of the 5:30 email from Aaron announcing another layoff loomed over everyone and I know still does. Product - the product has stagnated, partly because of initial layoffs removing some of the brightest minds focused on fixing it. Customers felt the pain as the GTM team was unaware of changes since Product Marketing was wiped out. C-Suite Leadership - again, this was THE BEST leadership back in the day, but Vista came in and destroyed that, placing Execs who saw the people as a cost center. Constant changing of direction has led to all departments feeling rudderless.

Thank you for the detailed review. You bring up some valid points and I understand your frustrations. We’ve experienced a lot of change and disruption over the past two years, including the staff reductions you mentioned. However I agree with you that we have the best people to work with across the globe and that hasn’t changed. There were a number of different reasons for these changes, but none of them were due to a Vista requirement. We had to make changes to our leadership, strategy, and products to refocus our efforts in a challenging time for our business and deliver real value to our customers. Under this new leadership, we’ve set a new strategy and org structure to best support it. We understand that we have a lot of re-building to do. Regaining trust and strengthening our culture are top priorities for me. Will Clive Chief People Officer

Pros

None that I can think of.

Cons

Hard to fit in if you aren’t a dude. Quickly realized working nights and weekends was expected.
