Pros

As far as tech goes, Pluralsight is an outlier on culture and people. Great environment and they hire really fantastic talent. Leadership does a pretty good job of communicating, there's pretty good representation of women in leadership positions, and people truly believe in the product. Also pretty great benefits with unlimited PTO, 16 wks primary parental leave, and flexible work. Health insurance was okay. They've done a lot of work on being a remote-first company.

Cons

The company has faced a lot of headwinds in the last 5 years, and there has been change after change after change especially in the last 18 months, which has tanked morale a LOT. There's an all new c-suite from 2 years ago, and there is a lot of effort to get the company back on track. It seems like they're heading in the right direction and the strategy seems more sound than it's been in recent years. But with the recent layoff, maybe not as well as it seems.

Pros

• Some genuinely great colleagues who are passionate and collaborative — though many don’t stay long. • If you can endure long enough, promotions tend to happen — often based on time served rather than skill or leadership capability. • Occasional flexibility, but entirely manager-dependent.

Cons

• The company is in a state of relentless restructuring. Every few months, high-performing and valuable team members are laid off, often replaced with cheaper resources, creating a climate of fear and instability. • Leadership turnover is STAGGERING. The CEO has changed THREE times in the past year, and executive leadership roles seem to rotate every quarter. This lack of continuity has eroded any real sense of direction or trust. • Once respected, people first leaders have been replaced by those who seem more focused on optics than actual employee well being. • Major decisions are dictated solely by the US headquarters, with no regard for local teams or long term impact, it feels like a top down command culture. • The leadership often presents a warm and friendly face, but that warmth disappears the moment you’re no longer seen as “cost effective.” You’re replaced, forgotten, and your contributions disregarded. • Promotions are often given based on tenure, not merit leading to unqualified individuals managing teams and creating toxic or inefficient work environments. Do some fact checking with previous employees before falling for some sweet talk and joining the sinking ship.
