Pros

bathrooms, water fountains, AC and heat

Cons

I got let go and it is the best thing that ever happened to me. there are so many companies that do the same thing now and do it better, and treat their employees better. Podium used to be a great place to work, but something changed and the past few years have been a gradual decline with 2023 being rock bottom. It’s obvious to everybody that the company is not doing well, but that will NEVER be addressed. They got rid of literally all benefits and incentives (unlimited pto isn’t a benefit when you don’t get any quota relief and have to work extra to make up for missed days). Management is the worst i’ve seen it. the ceo only wants managers that will kiss butt and agree with everything he says, and any sort of disagreement will end in your job being threatened. Asking for help is pointless, and will just draw negative attention to you that you are behind. the most help i’ve gotten here is from coworkers who ar also drowning and getting zero support. we are overworked and underpaid and micromanaged daily and nobody seems to care. you can’t even trust the positive reviews you see because kiss butt employees are being asked directly to leave a good review by the executive team because the know how bad it is. get on blind and read what employees actually think about podium cuz it is a joke and sinking quick. town halls are always falsely positive and uplifting but they aren’t fooling any of us. morale is down and everybody is miserable and looking for new jobs but the ceo will get on stage and talk about his private jet and wife buying designer bags. he is out of touch. everybody I know that left is in a better place mentally and financially

Pros

Unlimited PTO (if you're not in sales) Huge focus on DEI (if you're into that kind of thing)

Cons

A lot of decisions that were made within the last 2 years had negative outcomes. This started when they hired a big name exec who helped push some new initiatives and changed our sales structure. After a few months, the exec was fired, but his name is still brought up to this day as a scapegoat. A few years ago, we never missed sales quota. It wasn't in our DNA. With that said, I can't recall the last time we actually hit our monthly sales quota. They laid off 12% of the company in December 2022, just before Christmas. At that time, they also announced they were removing our 401k match, the weekly Wednesday lunches, the weekly smoothies, our golf pass at Fox Hollow, an indoor golf simulator (that was purchased less than 1 year ago), and more. 1 month ago, they announced that the CEO wants all local employees within a 50 miles radius to come into the office Tuesday-Thursday starting August 15th. From what I gathered, the majority of local employees were not happy about this. We even had a Q&A with some execs where questions were asked about this, and received mostly canned responses and they deferred blame to the CEO. There was no data to back up why we had to go into the office, and it was admitted that us being remote for the past 3 years was effective, but they still would not give exemptions for people who did not want to or were unable to come in. After multiple town hall meetings over the last few months where the CEO was boasting about how good our numbers looked since the last layoffs and how our goal is to not have any other layoffs, we were all surprised when 23% of the company was once again laid off on Wednesday August 9th. I've heard that they also announced that the 401k match was back during the town hall meeting the following day. As someone who was at Podium during its "rocket ship" stage, I believe that those days are long gone.

Pros

Surrounded by great people, pretty interesting for a B2B product.

Cons

Emotionally driven decisions by the CEO that other C-level leaders struggle to rationalize to their departments. Out of the blue, hundreds of employees who were hired as remote were told they'd have to start driving to the office, even if they lived 50 miles away. When asked why, the CEO just referenced the "magic" of being in the office. When asked what data went into the decision, the answer was flatly "none". Imagine upending the lives of hundreds of employees, against the recommendations of your C-suite, just because you believe in magic. This is the Podium experience.
