Pros

Everyone at PG is polite. PG expresses a company model where they want you to take charge of your own career.

Cons

After hiring you, PG has their new employee undergo what they call an RP week. During this RP week, you are not allowed to do anything job related. You sit at your desk, make phone calls to other PG employees outside of your office (people you will most likely never talk to again), and read self-help books. As much as I understand that they are trying to create a good company culture from the get-go, this is not the way to do it. Many employees are bored in their first week and feel useless. Not a great way to start. They also make you write a glassdoor review in your first week when you are in the honeymoon stage. That in itself is a red flag. The training is fast and surface layer. Management expects that once you have heard anything, you must be a pro. When you are done with training, they throw you into the deep end and expect you tot be able to swim. You'll tread water for about a week. After that week, your entire life is consumed with your work. There is no work/life balance. It is expected that you work some overtime each week. Taking charge of your own career - this is the biggest hoax of all. Unless you are a recruiter, PG does not care about your career. I have seen this with others in the office that PG overloads employees with work to the point that they are worn down and have to leave. This includes invested employees working with the company for over three years. Management is not allowed to step in and get their hands in the mud - they can only oversee your duties (some of the time micromanaging too).

Very sorry to hear you had a negative experience here! This is definitely not what we strive for. But we really appreciate you giving us this feedback. While we know we can’t change your experience, we want to learn, grow and ensure it isn’t replicated in the future. When you have a moment, we’d love to discuss further. Please email us at PGFeedback@PopulusGroup.com. Thank you!

Pros

Great company culture but steady is not their strong suit. Year over year revenue fluctuates too much. They take on clients, but lose their biggest ones.

Cons

Micro-management is the name of the game. They are over-protective and they say their leadership cares, but the president or vice-president never reaches out. One level up bosses feel the need to delegate all their responsibilities to you and then they don't even go after new accounts. They only promote once they know they are at risk of losing talent.
