Pros

High- end product. Modern showrooms.

Cons

It's 2016, not 2008. Hire enough staff to cover the showroom and pay your experienced employees at least market rate. Management likes to keep a revolving door of entry level new hires to keep overhead costs low. Some of us who are not the manager's pets are doing the work of 2 or more employees, with no recognition or hope for a promotion. We are all working too hard in order to make management wealthier, with little incentive to stay. Long retail hours and few paid holidays. Mandatory showroom hours Thanksgiving weekend at their poorly-timed yearly sale. High pressure unrealistic sales quotas that increase each year (with no salary increase). No time off for Christmas or New Years. No customer service and constant stock delays and errors from the factories in Spain who supply the products. Too much red tape and corporate bureaucracy around finding effective solutions for clients' inevitably troubled orders. Management steps in only when the clients lawyer up and scream at you. It's "Metropolis" meets "A Christmas Carol" here.

Pros

Lots of autonomy. Many opportunities for training and getting entry-level sales experience.

Cons

Little incentive due to salary (no commission) structure. Lack of territory assignments led to unnecessary competition and drama between employees. Not sure if either aspects have since changed.

Pros

- Huge company - Lots of products to sell - Annual trip with clients - You will want to work here only to say you worked here because they are very popular

Cons

- Not at all a great company to work for - Manager is condescending and constantly gaslighting employees - Commission structure is extremely outdated so as to set you up to not make commission. You only make commission if you reach an outrageous monthly sales goal. - They make the commission structure super complicated so you don't fight for your orders. Hard to understand and not clear what percentage you are making. - No bonuses - Benefits are terrible - Either 2-3% raise or none at all - Extremely underpaid for NYC living standard, THAT WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED AT THIS COMPANY. Prepare to struggle and live paycheck to paycheck.
