Too many old school managers who dont know how to manage young people and a changing workforce (or dont care to change their style). The quality of the senior executives vary greatly, and if you are in the wrong organization it can be death by a million micromanaged cuts. Does not promote based on merit, still an organization where seniority is favored over ability. Little to no work flexibility, still a big "cheeks in seats" culture.

1950's 'command and control' military management style. Information shared only on a need to know basis. No opportunity for innovation. No regard for rate-payers or environment. The only thing that counts is management's 'score card'.
