Employees Empowered & Committed to our Community
Pros
PGE provides many opportunities for employees to thrive through mentorship programs, job shadowing, tours, and participation in Business Resource Groups. We’re encouraged to celebrate our diverse cultures, become allies to our coworkers, and represent the communities we serve. Any position at PGE is a great entry point into the business. It provides exposure to many different departments and creates opportunities to learn how the broader organization operates. There are strong pathways for future career growth, and employees are encouraged to explore new roles and expand their skill sets. Networking is one of the biggest advantages at PGE. Building relationships across teams helps employees grow their professional network, learn from others, and discover new job opportunities within the company or externally with our partner organizations. I also appreciate that PGE and its employees consistently give back through the Employee Giving Campaign and volunteer efforts. Community involvement is clearly part of the company’s culture, and it’s something I’m proud to be part of.
Cons
While we understand the need to manage costs, it’s unfortunate that employee development is being reduced. Continuous growth and skill-building are essential to remaining competitive and adapting to evolving demands. I hope this investment can be revisited as conditions allow. In addition, reductions to employee benefits and incentives are difficult. For many employees, even small rewards and recognition programs provide meaningful motivation and reinforce a culture of appreciation. These incentives may seem minor, but they can have a significant impact on morale and engagement.
