Pros

The only good thing about this role is the salary. Compared to other high street banks Personal Banker role, this pays more and thats about it.

Cons

If you have joined as a Financial Specialist you will have ruined your career from the starting day. You will get minimal support from branch staff and the branch manager will try to get all his job done through you. You will once in a while see your line manager and the sales trainers are non existent. They are sitting in their posh offices. This sector of the post office is just there and they just want to keep their contract with Bank of Ireland for selling their products. They do not care about individuals and that is why they get rid of them within 12 months. Yes, your trial period will be for 12 months and then you are gone. Think twice before applying.

Pros

It a steady job, but not ultimately a safe job in this current climate.

Cons

You're just a number. Everything done to suit the work. If you late (even if no fault of you) you have to make time up, but if you early so what! Have to make up the time if you have Doctor or Hospital appointment.

Pros

Staff are very friendly and knowledgable and we work well as a team, friendly customers, ability to learn good customer service skills

Cons

Pressured in to selling goods like life insurance, even if the customer is not interested. Poor management. Holidays can only be taken when the management wants you to take them not when you need them. Pressured to come in to work even when very ill. No staff benefits. Having to replace your till losses with your own money. Minimum wage
