Pros
Cheap insurances if you're eligible. That's about it.
Cons
As a general manager too much is expected out of you. Required to work a 50 hour work week, but with all the emails, phone calls, and texts you have to respond to off the clock and the meetings that are always longer than planned you end up working over 60 hours. Most general managers drive 45 min or more to work I know I did. Inventory weeks are not part of your salary so those weeks you work 6 days. That's every other week. All employees run you over because discipline is virtually not allowed. HR gets involved with everything. Couldn't even let an associate go for bringing alcohol in the building even though it is against policy. Upper management shows no support. Vacation time is great but you're responsible for covering your shop manager wise. Most shops do not have enough coverage so good luck. Shift leads can perform any thing a GM can on computers which is scary. Company has major theft issues. Bonuses are given but everything from turnover to flow through effects your bonus. All they care about is numbers and winning contests.....not making their employees happy.
