Power Design is a regime. Agree or get out. Don't challenge, don't innovate, get in line. Also the nepotism is real. Jeez I've never worked somewhere that open favoritism was okay. People who have no idea what they are doing are placed in high up roles just because of a family relation. It's also super sexist. Just look in the bathrooms of the gym. The management of the departments is awful. They treat the employees, drafters and engineers alike, like cattle and put immense pressure if they are not getting their way. I was looking to move away from home and Power Design jumped at the chance to hire me, showing off their fancy office and "core values"(aka full of lies). During my interview I was asked questions that were nebulous in wording. When I asked for it to be clarified it seemed one interviewer was getting angry. But I brushed it off. When I was hired I soon found out that anger and that interviewer go hand in hand. They are NOT OPEN to any new ideas. If you even suggest something new they get annoyed, let alone you push for something then their face gets a shade of red I thought was only in cartoons and curses you out. This business may be growing in job count but the practices are stagnant and failing because of people like them and others that refuse to change or accept any new ideas. They treat the employees like an abusive parent. They say they love them and do all these things for them but it is a thin veneer that vanishes soon upon being hired. They throw crazy parties, this is true. However they also have horrible health insurance and PTO. You get 7 days that acrues throughout the year and expires every new year. When you leave, if you have unused PTO you do not get to have the money for those hours. They could cancel one event and give the employess a bonus every year, but they dont and bonuses and raises are scant to non-existent. They FORCE the employees to perform outlandish skits that have nothing to do with the job but to entertain CEO Mitch Permuy. You feel like a court jester. Any of the positive reviews you see on here were written by the HUGE HR department staff. They probably need one that huge because of the constant complaints inside the company. I was told I would be challenged at this job, but not that I would be dealing with the "mentally challenged" leadership. They treat the field people horribly. I had one sit next to me for weeks and the stories I was told were amazingly horrifying. Quick summary of one of them field people were not allowed long enough breaks and they defacated in their pants for fear of upsetting power design. I could go on, but I'm just done with this place. Please work somewhere else and save yourself.
