Pros

Competitive pay not much else.

Cons

Terrible work/life balance - so many restrictions on taking your earned time off. GRS has a policy for restricting PTO during the summer months and during the holidays that makes it impossible to spend time with your family or just have time for yourself. Oh, and please don't get sick, that's really frowned upon as well. Awful management - there's really been a culture shift at GRS within the last year or so. Management has the facade of putting the patients first, but you can really tell that with the changes coming to reimbursement, management is simply worried about the bottom line of the company. Management doesn't listen to suggestions, complaints, or concerns of employees. Unrealistic expectations - as the director of a rehab department you are expected to be EVERYTHING for the department and maintain at least 60-70% productivity. Absolutely impossible with all of the ridiculous tasks they have you completing. And there is absolutely ZERO incentive to be a rehab manager at the facility level - you're there workhorse with absolutely ZERO gratitude from the company. I've worked for this company for over a decade now and it's a shame to see how far down it has gone. Used to be above the rest, now just mediocre at best. Used to have a really high ethical standard, now turns it's head to reports of unethical behavior. Insurance benefits are outrageous. High premiums for little coverage. Definitely would not recommend unless you need the money.

Pros

It was a great start to a new position in care I hadn't done before. I had only worked in long term care. So rehab was a great experience and it was a great place to grow and learn.

Cons

It was just starting as a new company. Management changed constitnely. It was kind of falling on its face for awhile no one wanted to be there.
