Pros

Very supportive and friendly staff. Program coordinator experience will depend on the attorney you work for, but the vast majority of people are nice and compassionate. Management really cares about employees, is willing to listen to concerns, places importance on work-life balance, and has created a great work culture. They value team work and you can depend on coworkers for help and guidance. I've found that even when you make mistakes people are understanding. People are mindful of your personal time (don't expect anyone to answer messages after work hours) and the environment is not stressful. Good benefits/ time off etc...

Cons

* No clear room for advanced from the assistant level (although it does happen). * Not a lot of diversity in the company * Job can become a bit boring / repetitive after a while (but that's true for anything!)

We very much appreciate the reviewer sharing the observation that management really does care, listens and responds to employee concerns. This is what we strive for every day, but especially now when there is so much to balance between work and personal needs during the pandemic. Regarding the comment on encouraging more diversity, there is always room for improvement. When we look at the numbers, we actually do have quite a diverse population of employees throughout the organization, which perhaps is not always evident within a department. We will continue our efforts to create a workforce that reflects the enormous diversity of the city in which we work, NYC

Thank you for taking the time to write a review; we do place a premium on work/life balance so are glad the stability of your work hours contributed to this. Regarding growth opportunities, while we recognize we may not always have promotional openings available when a talented employee is ready for that next move, we are proud of PLI’s effort to provide professional development to all staff to prepare them for this possibility. An example is that we offer LinkedIn Learning access to every employee.
