Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience as a current employee at PLI! We are so glad to hear you enjoy working here and feel supported by management, through career advancement and learning opportunities, and because of our generous benefits. Regarding your note on revising processes, we do encourage our employees to make suggestions to their managers or the PLI management team on ideas for process improvement. We are enthusiastic about hearing from staff and have a proven track record of implementing many of their suggestions. We want our employees to feel challenged, engaged, and happy at work, so we encourage everyone to talk with their managers often regarding how PLI can help them be the best at their jobs. As always, we appreciate your feedback!

Pros

Very supportive and friendly staff. Program coordinator experience will depend on the attorney you work for, but the vast majority of people are nice and compassionate. Management really cares about employees, is willing to listen to concerns, places importance on work-life balance, and has created a great work culture. They value team work and you can depend on coworkers for help and guidance. I've found that even when you make mistakes people are understanding. People are mindful of your personal time (don't expect anyone to answer messages after work hours) and the environment is not stressful. Good benefits/ time off etc...

Cons

* No clear room for advanced from the assistant level (although it does happen). * Not a lot of diversity in the company * Job can become a bit boring / repetitive after a while (but that's true for anything!)

We very much appreciate the reviewer sharing the observation that management really does care, listens and responds to employee concerns. This is what we strive for every day, but especially now when there is so much to balance between work and personal needs during the pandemic. Regarding the comment on encouraging more diversity, there is always room for improvement. When we look at the numbers, we actually do have quite a diverse population of employees throughout the organization, which perhaps is not always evident within a department. We will continue our efforts to create a workforce that reflects the enormous diversity of the city in which we work, NYC

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on Glassdoor and for recognizing PLI’s excellent reputation in the legal services industry. Naturally we are disappointed to learn that you felt that there was no room for growth during your employment. We do make a strong effort to provide employee development opportunities and recognize achievements. In fact, just this year, PLI promoted 17 employees as a result of the annual review process. We are also proud to have good blend of new and long-service employees in our community, and due to everyone’s hard work we have recently launched a number of progressive initiatives, such as the overhaul of our website, countless new CLE programs and one-hour briefings, and other innovative changes. We value all feedback and our goal is for each employee to have a good experience at PLI.
