      Pros

      There are lots of opportunities to work on a great deal of varying projects and areas of engineering. It is a cutting edge technology company and world leader in the jet engine industry.

      Cons

      Benefits are poor, employee engagement and satisfaction is not truly pursued at an organizational level. The top down organizational tactics stifle creativity of the technical experts.

      Pros

      Interesting hands-on work environment - it's definitely a dream job for someone who wants to see the products they are providing support for being made in real-time. The company offers great benefits and has a very strong tuition reimbursement package to utilize. The relaxed dress code for non-managerial staff is a plus.

      Cons

      Pratt is far too big to feel like you have the opportunity to advance quickly. The company is inherently bureaucratic and thus feels very far behind the times... it's far from nimble. Management is very much focused on politics - an issue that is noticed organization-wide and frowned upon by individual contributors. Overall there is very little recognition given for good work, and there is an overwhelming mood induced by feeling easily-replaceable and under-utilized.

      Pros

      Fully paid continuing education whether job related or not. Many opportunities within the company and across UTC. The pride associated with supporting our military customers. There are many very respected employees who are leaders in their field to work with. Good job security. I also think we're starting to turn the corner with our commercial business with the new technlologes we're introducing.

      Cons

      Dealing with the union and management's complete inability or unwillingness to make the union represented workforce earn their very lucrative paychecks. Annual raises for salary employees don't even keep up with cost of living increases.
