Pros

Ideal for entry-level engineers, mature work processes, training material, EH&S practices.

Cons

Rude and arrogant Sr. management, unrealistic schedules, too many fire fights, limited career growth, very low salary growth, low-end benefits.

Pros

If you are in a good department it can shield you from the bureaucracy of the corporation. Pretty decent tuition re-reimbursement program.

Cons

Too much bureaucracy. Benefits are nothing great, your basic 401K match on retirement and medical with high deductibles. However very good tuition re-reimbursement program.

Pros

Yes, they do a lot of really cool things here. You will be exposed to ALL of P&W products depending on how long you work here. Pratt almost lost the commercial business completely and through some fluke is now ahead of the market with their geared turbofan. Production is ramping up big time which means opportunities for some.

Cons

This is an old cold war era company which is still run by a good-ol-boy network that values "yes" men. When it comes to raises and promotions management still values hours put in over integrity, improving tools, processes, and products. For example the performance feedback tool (PFT) process only gets started after the actual harmonization process is completed and finalized, i.e. it's mostly for managers to substantiate their position regarding your raise and/or promotion more than it is for the employee's benefit (like they make it out to be).
