Wine Biz is sinking

Pros

Very absent leadership. Not much oversight. BOD clueless. Easy to hide. If you are part of club life is good. You are part of club until you arent and then all the skeletons come to the surface.

Cons

Very unethical. The turnover is insane. Sales and marketing 76 people in 5 years. The mistakes we make are hilarious and the costly mistakes marketing and operations hide is also hilarious. A public company would have fired folks long ago. No loyalty. As the wine biz gets tighter Precept is pretty cutthroat. Leadership is a joke just read everything here for the past 10 years. CEO married his subordinate (was married already). Nice.

Pros

Great people, great wines, well respected by customer base, hospitality focused, well organized resources, invested in building brands

Cons

Industry is at turning point, frequent employee departures, sometimes too strong a “look at me” culture
