      Pros

      Good company and professional envirornment. Decent benefits, and culture is good but very stiff, not a lot of flexibility but that can be good. People in other departments really enjoy their jobs at Premera, however, there are issues within the department that I work in.

      Cons

      Leadership on my team (not all teams) is very poor. The coordinator is running the department, not the manager. No direction and no support to do my job properly. A lack of understanding and experience in management to control the team.

      * Peers in marketing are smart, supportive * Industry leader with stability * No hassle accommodation for disabilities * Health insurance coverage is good, as you might expect

      Cons

      * Middle and upper management frequently at war with each other, casualties mount quickly; which makes it difficult to understand direction or maintain motivation. * Like many other places, stated goal is to innovate and be creative, but truth is that anything new or creative is quickly squelched. * Silos are thick and impermeable. * If you live anywhere but northern suburbs, commute is going to get tiresome. Metro buses stop 2 miles south, Sounder stops 2 miles west, no shuttles.

      steady work, good work-life balance, really good people, Christmas gift was always a little weird but I appreciated them, smart/ambitious people can move ahead quickly with efforts to increase visibility

      Cons

      mercurial atmosphere in some depts., slow pace, high-turnover in some areas, regulatory, environment can make things complicated/confusing, so many meetings, parking was a challenge
