Pros

They have great pto and insurance is decent. Love that they let you work from home. They are pro diversity and have ERG groups which I love.

Cons

The pay is usually on the lower end compared to what is offered from competitors.

Pros

Policies are pretty straightforward and easy to understand, easy to get a hold of doctors, haven’t really had any issues with doctors being rude. The pay rate is nice especially for new grads compared to other places; but that should also be a sign; they pay you really well to keep you there; to compensate for it not being so great—they know employees would definitely go somewhere else if the pay rate was similar to all the other hospital in the area.

Cons

The hospital is CHEAP. They don’t really offer incentives for picking up to help out other than $5-10 extra per hour; they don’t give out gift cards or tickets to local events, they don’t do anything special for nurses week AT ALL. You kind of just show up and go home, don’t really feel celebrated for the hardwork you do. The patient ratios suck, even on higher acuity floors where the ratio is supposed to be 3:1 instead it’s 5:1 not safe at all. Most of the equipment is outdated and supply rooms are never stocked properly. Cafeteria closes early-3pm. They have a quickstop store for night shift that’s self-service—both are really expensive ($8 for a Starbucks espresso can). Idk this place is just really really cheap and does the bare minimum for its employees…you almost don’t notice it if you’ve never worked anywhere else. They hire a diverse range of people, but they definitely have some unconscious bias on some of the other floors that aren’t medsurg; like ICU, SD, PCU, OB…you rarely see black people on these floors; they run them off before they even get started or comfortable learning (I’m white & I’ve seen this first hand).
