Intermediate management can get spread pretty thin with the workload and the mentoring/coaching/evaluating aspect of their roles suffer. I was there just shy of two years and was never rated or reviewed. There are unfortunately intermediate middle management leaders that are not technically qualified to manage or lead engineers of the caliber they do. To often they insert themselves into technical issues they do not understand and create unnecessary and unproductive internal drama. Dealing with unpleasant and offensive customers is very challenging.

Cisco side of the house was stiff and unwelcoming. Despite good leadership on that side from a sales perspective, they were a largely grumpy bunch, unhappy with their plight slinging Cisco gear.
