Managers lack integrity!

Pros

Pay is okay and 196 hours of PTO is generous, but that's about it

Cons

Unless you're willing to inform on your team mates, you will not be a "favorite" and you won't go far at Prime. Prime refers to the work environment as a "fast paced environment". What this really means is long hours, high stress, a sweatshop mentality. Prime is the only company where I witnessed fellow employee's break down and cry from the work load and unrealistic deadlines. Good work isn't rewarded, instead managers keep track of every little thing you do wrong, like missing a meeting. This is used against you at your annual review to justify a lowered annual bonus. Do not believe HR when they tell you you will get a 6% annual bonus.

Pros

Benefits right after you started.

Cons

not so good pay. Favoritism ("pets" got special projects, or even pulled off phones.) In house interviews were so misguided, even if you had the experience, they passed you over for someone who did not have the proper training. Threatening to write people up.for doing their jobs. Not everyone was on the same page with the training. The training I had from 7 years ago is different then what new hires got. Shift bids.

Pros

Company continues to enjoy significant growth year over year with its rank and file people genuinely caring about the quality of their own work and the services extended to customers. Each employee really can effect change if they stand up and take ownership. Just don't expect it to A) be easy, and B) to hear angels sing and harps play when done.

Cons

Past decisions by management have created an extremely reactive work environment rather than a more plan full one. This, along with the continued rapid growth of the company, has led to a working environment that requires you to be able to react quickly to a near constant barrage of unplanned work while still completing all previously assigned duties and projects on time and budget. Burn out is high for those unable to separate work pressure from their personal lives. The phrase "don't take work home" has real meaning here if you value your sanity. Management has also taken a "zero fail" approach to everything which in some quarters is leading to an increase in finger pointing, back stabbing, and an increase in severe reprimands for mistakes or oversights that anywhere else would warrant no more than a lessons learned exercise and changes to prevent recurrence. Company needs to do a better job of selecting candidates for management positions that are interested in actually managing their area of responsibility rather than managing up in preparation for their own personal advancement. Personal experience has been that there are more ineffectual managers lacking basic emotional intelligence here than at past employers of similar or larger size.
