Similar if not lower pay as other centers with very poor benefits, owners think they are better than everybody, 5-10s minimum for management with no extra benefits, owners are penny pinchers, no support from ownership to dis-enroll bad behavior problems, lack of consistent communication, employee decisions are made based on what works in favor of the owners, Ownership clearly has NO child care experience
Horrible owners. It is amazing that they can get anybody to stay. Any and all benefits/rules will be fully enforced but only if it benefits the owners. They have this crazy idea that I would not have a job if it weren't for them and I should kiss their feet. The best part was being told that we HAVE to work their fund raising event on a Saturday without pay or else be written up. I will be reporting that to the Dept. of Labor, not that that will do any good, last time I did that it was swept under the rug because I think the owners must know somebody at the DOL.
They cant keep a management team because they make them work 50 hours minimum, typically 55 hours a week, and sometimes over 60 hours a week without breaks. The director looks like she is going to fall asleep standing up The AD is completely worn out and cant function because they make a pregnant diabetic work 55 hours a week without a guaranteed break. I don't think the current team will not be there much longer. I can see they are both always exhausted and overworked. I have never worked anywhere that made their salaried managers put in so many hours for what I'm sure is less than $40k/year. Teacher pay isn't much better, they gave out a raise recently because employees were leaving to go to the competitors up the road, but they still pay less than the competition when benefits and employee appreciation events are factored in.
The decisions the owner (female owner) make half the times don't make any sense but they don't take any advise from us teachers because they know what is best because they are the owners. Frequently the two owners are heard screaming and fighting with each other in the office. One time she got angry and disappeared for 3 days. Maybe she finally had a breakdown and got some mental help. She is still a totalitarian leader that has the mentality "its my center, I can do whatever I want." I have frequently found discrepancies on my paycheck where I should have been paid overtime due to not getting a break, but it wasn't there. I think she changes time cards so they can avoid paying overtime.
The pay is average for the industry, but the benefits are terrible and are expensive. There is a 50% discount for your own children, but if you want to leave them there if you aren't working then you lose that discount no matter the reason, just a benefit that they lure you in with. Other centers don't play those games.
Turning in supply orders doesn't mean anything, they will just not order it, then tell you to just go buy it yourself if you need it, then yell at you for not following curriculum that you cant do without the supplies.
It is the same BS that many poorly run centers suffer from.
That is why they have only been open a year and a half and have been through 3 directors, 2 ADs, maybe 3 soon, because I don't think the current one will be back after maternity leave (would a new mom really want to work 55 hours a week and get treated like garbage by the owner?) and 4 chefs in the short time they have been open.
