Pros
Good benefits - vacation, sick days, 401k, health, etc. A lot of attention is paid to diversity, work life balance, etc. and some of it isn't even lip service.
Cons
Becoming increasingly corporate but salaries are probably not as competitive as corporate. Benefits are shrinking while cost to employees increases. As with most education, be prepared to understand that faculty and students are the reasons you're there. Deep pockets mean bad decisions are easily covered up. Traffic into any part of the campus is miserable and you cannot afford to live nearby.
