Pros

benefits, vacation, sick days, personal days, and etc. 401k, tuition reimbursement, etc etc

Cons

Human Resources seem not be neutral anymore and heavily favor management on all aspects. Benefits can be bit better for the price the employee is paying. Really hard to advance in certain departments, favoritism and nepotism is slightly rampant.

Pros

The University is a great place to work and live, with facilities, amenities, and academic program second to none. The campus is like a country club, and some of the world's foremost researchers work here.

Cons

As a graduate student, your experience and academic program quality changes dramatically based on your academic advisor. For some, this works out really well. For others, it can be a nightmare.
