Pros

Princeton is a unique top tier univ. The people are extremely friendly and very competitive. The PhD program is not a rat race as it is in MIT or Stanford. For a comfortable and happy PhD program, Princeton should be the first choice

Cons

Princeton is a quiet beautiful town which I am okay with. But some of my friends find the need of a bigger city experience, which Princeton does not exactly provide

Pros

Great for raising a family: quiet, safe, and gorgeous. Extremely well funded university, great educational resources. Health plan is fantastic. Hour train to Penn Station in New York.

Cons

None for me! Though the distance from a major city tends to be a bummer for the younger crowd. Also, an affluent neighborhood such as Princeton means things generally come with a higher price tag.
